The capitol of the United States, Washington D.C. is a major metropolitain area that has seen its fair share of the unusual, though still not one tenth as much peril as London falls under on a regular basis. The relative lack of such threats has resulted in a somewhat covered-eyes approach to the very concept of extra-terrestrial visitations and especially direct confrontations... ironic, given how much has happened. Though the Institute does have a small, secondary office located here, it's generally only used against threats directly relating to the capitol itself, or when it becomes necessary to report directly to the Director of National Intelligence.
